Luanda - Angola will attend the Frankfurt Book Fair set to take place from
October 17-23 in Germany.
The information is contained in a press note from the Angolan Writers
Association (UEA) that says the writer Gociante Patissa will represent the
country at the event.
According to the UEA note that reached ANGOP, the presence of Angola
follows an invitation by the Press and Culture section of the German Embassy in
Luanda. Gociante Patissa, a relatively new name in the history of the Angolan
literature, is seen as showing considerable signs of a promising career.
In addition to having published two books of short stories, two of poetry,
a novel and one of chronicles, Gociante Patissa won the Benguela province
Culture and Arts Award in 2012, for his contribution to the spread of the
Umbundu language and culture.
The writer also won the Sonangol Arts Festival Award in 2014 in the poetry
category.
